Запись: 4 new glamping camps for wild vacation

Get ready to pack your bags!

Zambezi Sands River Lodge

First up, in January 2023, Zambezi Sands River Lodge opens its doors (or rather, tent flaps) in Zimbabwe. Picture yourself in one of ten gorgeous Bedouin-style tents, perched right on the banks of the Zambezi River. Just an hour from the majestic Victoria Falls, each tent boasts stunning river views and private verandas perfect for spotting hippos and elephants – talk about impressive neighbors! Riverboat cruises and game drives complete the immersive wildlife experience.

And here’s a feel-good bonus: this renovated property is part of Batoka Hospitality, the first Black female-owned safari lodge group in Africa. Plus, 10% of your stay goes directly to the Tesse Fund, supporting local community projects.  So, you can enjoy an amazing vacation and contribute to positive change.

Ulum Moab

Prepare to be awestruck by Ulum Moab in the heart of Utah’s dramatic red rock country. Nestled among towering boulder stacks, this camp offers a truly unique desert experience. Imagine starting your day with yoga, spending the afternoon exploring nearby national parks like Canyonlands and Arches (think hiking and white water rafting!), and ending the evening with stargazing and s’mores around the campfire, serenaded by live acoustic music. The tents themselves are spacious and comfortable, offering a welcome retreat from the rugged landscape, with plush furniture and all the amenities you need to relax.

Kozala Zamba

Finally, keep an eye out for the highly anticipated Kozala Zamba, in the Republic of Congo. From the creators of Cambodia’s Shinta Mani Wild, this property is already generating buzz. Six individual camps, each with only six tents, will offer an explorer-maximalism aesthetic similar to its sister property. Located in what the owners, Bensley Collection, are calling «the very last pristine forest on Earth,» Kozala promises a truly unforgettable – albeit likely pricey – adventure.

Guests can choose from various itineraries (six nights, 13 nights) that connect different camps, allowing them to customize their wildlife viewing experience (gorillas, anyone?) and other activities. Early glimpses of the camp show tents perched on high stilts, offering stunning forest views, and handcrafted, locally sourced furnishings. Kozala’s guides are passionate about sharing the rich history and culture of the Congo, including its past as a collection of 800 kingdoms and the heritage of its many tribes. They even provide a recommended reading list to prepare you for your journey!

North Island Okavango

Botswana is calling with the ultra-exclusive North Island Okavango (opened June 2023). This intimate and romantic retreat features just three tented suites on a private island in the Okavango Delta, Botswana – a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its magical boat safaris. Picture yourself waking up to breathtaking waterway views from your dramatically veiled bed, then stepping out onto your sunken deck with comfy sofas.

Expert guides will take you on unforgettable journeys in traditional mokoro boats, and each suite comes complete with its own plunge pool, freestanding bathtub, and fireplace. And if you’re a true connoisseur, you can even book an itinerary that combines stays at North Island Okavango with the owners’ other acclaimed properties, Jack’s Camp and Tuludi.

That’s all for now, stay tuned and ready for the amazing trips!
